Miracote Repair Mortar Type I (RM I) – RM I is a polymer-modified, two-component smoothing and resurfacing compound for concrete floors and decks.  RM I can be applied by trowel from a featheredge thickness up to 3 inches thick in multiple lifts or with the addition of crushed, dry stone aggregate.  RM I is designed and formulated to maximize adhesion and minimize shrinkage while developing high compressive strength.  Common uses include resurfacing and re-leveling of interior and exterior concrete surfaces, and as an underlayment for other polymeric toppings.  Surface preparation is critical to performance of any and all cementitious overlays.  Consult the recommendations of ICRI and ACI as well as manufacturer’s instructions for best methods of prep and application. One 75.3 lb. bag of RM I Powder mixes with One gallon of the RM I Liquid Polymer (available in 5 gallon pails) resulting in a cured color slightly darker than concrete.

Average cost and coverage for RM I System : RM I Gray Powder (75.3 lb. bag) $16.50
RM I Liquid (1 x 5 gallon pail)  $78.08
One 75.3 lb. bag of RM I Powder mixed with 1 gallon of RM I Liquid should cover approximately 32 square feet @ ¼” thickness.

Miracote CQ II Epoxy Primer, Matrix, Grout Coat, Top Coat – CQ II is the “Jack of all trades” when it comes to an epoxy coating.  It is commonly used as a clear coating for interior decorative concrete work but may also be pigmented as a colorful, stand-alone coating, or used in combination with a broadcast aggregate for Miracote’s “Colored Quartz” system.  CQ II functions as a primer, flood coat (or matrix), as well as a top coat, giving it the versatility of an all-in-one epoxy system with excellent abrasion and chemical resistance.  Surfaces should be prepared according to Miracote’s, as well as ACI and ICRI specifications most directly related to the specific application type.  CQ II is a 100% solids, non amine, multi-component, epoxy that requires accurate mixing and application within pot-life.  CQ II is available in Clear kit sizes of 3 gallons and 15 gallons.  For standard colors, the addition of a Miracote ColorPax – E is required.

Average cost and coverage for CQ II System :

3-gallon kit - $186.38
(2 gal Part A - $103.42)
(1 gal Part B - $82.96)

  15-gallon kit - $692.78
(10 gal Part A - $355.16)
(5 gal Part B - $337.62)

Levelayer II (Econolevel) – Levelayer II is a cementitious, non-shrinking, self-leveling floor underlayment designed for interior use.  This single-component material mixes with clean water and is applied over a primed surface to provide a smooth, new floor surface from featheredge to 4” in multiple lifts or when used in conjunction with clean, dry stone aggregate.  LLII may be poured or pumped onto the primed concrete surface, spread to desired thickness with a gauge rake and allowed to level off.  LL II should be walkable within 4 hours and may except floor covering usually within 14 hours from time of installation.  Dayton Superior’s J-42 Primer is mixed or diluted 1:1 (or 50/50) with clean water and then brushed onto the concrete surface to be covered with LL II.  Once the primer has dried to the touch, LL II may be applied.  Mixing the LL II prior to application:  Add one 50 lb. bag of LL II to 5.5 quarts of clean water and mix with a paddle mixer for 2-3 minutes or until thoroughly mixed.

Average cost and coverage for LL II:   One 50 lb. bag LL II - $28.92
  One Gallon J-42 (concentrated) - $36.32
  Five Gallon J-42 (concentrated) - $171.99
J-42 coverage is approximately 400-500 sq. ft. per gallon after it is diluted.
LL II coverage is approximately 48 square feet per 50 lb. bag @ 1/8” thickness.

Poxy-Fil (J-52) – J-52 is a two-component, semi-rigid, 100% solids, moisture tolerant, low shrink epoxy joint filler and crack repair material.  J-52 is used to seal joints in industrial floors exposed to heavy duty traffic.  It is also commonly used to repair cracks from damaged and spalled joint nosing.  It is semi-rigid to allow for subtle movement and flexibility in contraction joints while maintaining a tough and durable joint filling that is light gray in color.  J-52 is available in 2 gallon kits (1 gallon of Part A, 1 gallon of Part B) and must be properly mixed prior to installation.  Once thoroughly mixed, J-52 can be poured into the joint taking caution not to overfill and also to dispense all material within its pot life.

Average cost and coverage for J-52:

One 2-gallon kit - $117.35 Coverage is completely dependent on joint Depth and width…i.e. ½” x ½” joint coverage should be 77 linear feet per gal.

Featherpatch – Featherpatch is a polymer-modified cement repair mortar designed for repairing scaled and damage concrete surfaces from featheredge up to 1” repairs in a single application.  The polymer is dry-blended within the product so only clean water is required for mixing.  Featherpatch is good for interior and exterior use in repairing small cracks in horizontal concrete and masonry surfaces, honeycombs in foundation work and walls, chips, and spalls in driveways, patios, and walkways, and leveling low spots (birdbaths) in concrete.  One 50 lb. bag of Featherpatch can be mixed with up to 1 gallon of clean water for 1 minute or until thoroughly mixed.  Moisten surface to receive Featherpatch to “SSD” (ACI/ICRI term meaning Super Saturated Dry) prior to applying Featherpatch.  Prior surface preparation is required before application of any cementitious repair mortar or overlay, and is critical to the proper performance of the repair or overlay.  Consult Manufacturer’s recommendation as well as guidelines from ACI and ICRI.

Average cost and coverage for Featherpatch:   One 50 lb. bag - $29.31
One 50 lb. bag will cover approx. 22 sq. ft.  @ ¼” inch thickness

Speedpatch – Speedpatch is a fast-setting cementitious repair mortar for structural repairs of holes, voids, and cracks in concrete and masonry surfaces.  Speedpatch develops extremely high early strength.  It is formulated without added gypsum for enhanced durability and extended resistance to severe weathering and underground environments.  The fast-setting quality in Speedpatch makes it efficient for use on horizontal, vertical, and overhead repairs without the need for forms and can be easily carved, shaped, and molded to the contours and shape of the surrounding substrate.  One 50 lb. bag of Speedpatch mixes with up to 4.5 quarts of clean water and will take an initial set in 9-12 minutes but remains shave-able for 15- 40 minutes depending on temperature and environmental conditions.  Light foot traffic may be allowed over the repair in approximately 1 hour.

Average cost and coverage for Speedpatch:    One 50 lb. bag - $20.17
One 50 lb. bag will cover approx. 10 Sq. ft. @ ½” thickness

Polytops Fast-Set Epoxy – Polytops Fast Set Epoxy is a two-component, high-strength, rapid-setting, epoxy adhesive anchoring gel.  Common uses include permanently adhering anchoring fasteners set in concrete (pool cover anchoring bolts), crack repairs in older concrete and bonding of irregular surfaces.  Polytops Fast Set Epoxy comes in 22 oz. side-by-side cartridges.  Component A is white, and Component B is dark Gray for noting when proper mixing is occurring, the product should be medium gray.  A dual component caulking gun is required for application of Polytops Fast Set Epoxy as well as a static mixing nozzle and nut.
